This role involves building and operating the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure to support U.S. Government agencies. The AWS RAPP (Route 53 and Perimeter Protection) ADC team seeks engineers focused on operational excellence, complex system troubleshooting, Linux, networking, and cloud services. You will automate service management and scaling, ensure high availability, identify and resolve systemic issues, and guide projects from definition to milestone delivery.
Key responsibilities
Ensure Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services maintain a 100% uptime SLA.
Deploy and maintain software, troubleshoot failures, and drive automation through infrastructure as code and operator tools.
Identify defect patterns, resolve, mitigate or elevate operational concerns in a timely manner.
Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
Day in the life
Manage and monitor systems in air‑gapped regions, build software‑based solutions to improve system monitoring and management.
Basic Qualifications
Experience programming with one or more modern languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
Experience building tools for building, testing, releasing, or monitoring.
2+ years of professional software development experience, including 1+ year of designing or architecting new or existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling) and knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience on highly concurrent, high‑throughput systems and distributed systems.
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby or similar.
Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum methodology.
