We are Lockheed Martin. The Embedded Software Engineer in the Hardware Development team delivers advanced hardware and embedded solutions for cutting-edge aerospace programs. The role supports the F-35, F-16, and Skunk Works initiatives.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and integrate hardware and software components powering next-generation aircraft and mission systems.
Utilize C++ and other applicable embedded languages to develop embedded solutions for aerospace systems.
Participate in all phases of hardware and software development, from concept through verification.
Drive Skunk Works research and development efforts on emerging technologies.
Create architecture, logic designs, and system simulations for complex embedded systems.
Who You Are
Experienced hardware professional with deep expertise in embedded C/C++ and FPGA design. Thrives in fast-paced agile environments, mentors junior engineers, and provides innovative solutions to complex problems.
Basic Qualifications
Experience with complex electronics and embedded systems, such as Field-Programmable Gate Array and System on Chips (SoCs).
Minimum 3 years experience developing in C/C++.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
Desired Skills
Experience developing Linux device drivers.
Experience with agile development, configuration management, and continuous integration processes and methodologies.
Experience with AMD Vitis IDE and related embedded and SoC software design flows.
Experience preparing system architectures and appropriate UML and related diagrams.
Experience with Arm, RISC-V, PowerPC and x86 board support package creation.
Strong mentoring skills and experience leading groups.
Strong technical communication skills.
Experience with industry standard agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Gitlab.
Understanding of networking and PCIe standards.
Comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
Ability to adapt well to change, as the working environment has evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.
Board bring-up and electronics debug/design.
Developing unit tests and frameworks for embedded systems such as utilizing cpp unit.
Security Clearance
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US citizen and obtain a Secret clearance.
Compensation
Annual base salary range for this position: $76,500 - $134,895 depending on location and experience.
