Position Overview
Staff‑level Frontend Engineer focused on design system development and enhancing product experiences at Ashby.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and evolve Ashby’s design system ensuring cohesive UI across the platform.

Collaborate with customers and product stakeholders to translate user needs into high‑fidelity prototypes propagated throughout the codebase.

Build composable, flexible components that can be easily used by other engineers (e.g., custom autocomplete widgets).

Improve information hierarchy and usability of key product views, such as candidate assessment dashboards.

Mentor junior engineers on design and engineering best‑practice, ownership, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience (or equivalent mix of frontend and design).

Strong background in React, CSS (SASS/Stitches), and HTML.

Proven track record of leading or contributing significantly to design systems.

Experience building components that are used by teams cross‑functional.

Excellent communication skills and a passion for solving problems end‑to‑end.

Technical Stack
TypeScript, React, SASS/Stitches, Apollo GraphQL, Node.js, Postgres, Redis.

Compensation Range
$190K – $255K.
