Job Overview
The Lemuel Shattuck Hospital (LSH) seeks a dedicated Electrician II to maintain and enhance the hospital's electrical systems, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.

Schedule
Monday - Friday 7:30AM-4PM

Responsibilities

Test, repair, install and maintain various electrical systems and equipment using appropriate tools to ensure proper function.

Troubleshoot electrical equipment using necessary tools, reading schematics, diagrams, and outlines to identify and correct problems.

Maintain an adequate inventory of equipment and materials, contacting vendors for pricing and ordering supplies.

Inspect the work of outside contractors visually to ensure compliance with agency safety codes and regulations.

Determine on‑job procedure changes by consulting tradespeople, utilities, contractors, and engineers to obtain technical advice and coordinate work projects.

Determine acceptable quality of materials and equipment to ensure completed projects meet specifications.

Perform related duties such as reviewing technical literature, resetting fire alarm systems, deciding when to shut off main power in emergencies, setting up, breaking down, and moving staging, drafting schematics and diagrams, and providing on‑the‑job training.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of state and local electrical codes.

Understanding of electrical principles and theory.

Experience with small hand tools and hand‑held power tools such as pliers, screwdrivers, drills, etc.

Knowledge of testing equipment used in electrical work.

Familiarity with safety practices and inspection techniques used in the electrical trade.

Ability to use precision measuring equipment, gauges, and instrumentation.

Can lift and carry heavy objects.

Follow oral and written instructions.

Write clearly and concisely and maintain accurate records.

Perform calculations to determine voltage, amperage, and resistance.

Read and interpret documents such as electrical plans, schematics, and drawings.

Climb and work from ladders and scaffolds.

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems and equipment.

Detect and locate causes of electrical failure or equipment breakdown.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in healthcare facilities.

Familiarity with computer programs for building out program initiatives.

Applicants must hold a valid Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Electrician license issued by the State Examiners of Electricians. A valid Massachusetts Class 3 Motor Vehicle Operator’s License may be required for certain assignments.

Salary: $69,480.84 – $98,102.68 per year, based on experience and internal pay structure.
