Certifications & Licenses
Florida law requires all Athletic Coaches to hold either a valid Florida Educator Certificate or a valid Athletic Coaching Certificate issued by the Florida Department of Education. The Three‑Year Athletic Coaching Certificate is issued to provide time to complete the Five‑Year Athletic Coaching Certificate requirements. An additional Athletic Coaching Certificate is not required for individuals who hold a valid Florida Educator’s Certificate.
Completion of required athletic coaching courses including First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Concussion in Sports (NFHS courses), AED training, and the Florida Department of Education Certificate (Athletic Coaching).
