Florida law requires all Athletic Coaches to hold either a valid Florida Educator Certificate or a valid Athletic Coaching Certificate.
Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates: a Three‑Year certificate (to provide time to complete Five‑Year requirements) and a Five‑Year certificate.
Individuals who already hold a valid Florida Educator’s Certificate do not need an additional Athletic Coaching Certificate.
