Compensation & Benefits
Sign‑on bonus available:
$7,500 for candidates with less than 2 years of experience (pro‑rated for Part‑Time/Per‑Diem positions)
$15,000 for candidates with 2+ years of experience (pro‑rated for Part‑Time/Per‑Diem positions)
Relocation assistance and temporary housing may be provided. Bonus not applicable to current MaineHealth employees or individuals separated within the last six months.
Responsibilities
The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for independently performing and monitoring laboratory testing of patient specimens, confirming, interpreting, correlating, and reporting both normal and abnormal patient results. The role identifies technical, instrumental, or physiological problems and initiates solutions. The technician ensures accuracy, quality control, and instrument maintenance.
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a similar field.
Certification: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician within six months of hire, by a recognized organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
Experience: Not required.
Additional requirement: May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.
