Summer Learning - Non-Union Transition Support Facilitator Positions

The Superior-Greenstone District School Board is seeking Summer Learning Support Facilitators to support team leads in the implementation of unique programming aimed at providing skill-building opportunities for children and youth with neurodiverse learning needs. This program supports transitions back to school after summer break.

Facilitators will support the delivery of programming that emphasizes emotional regulation, executive functioning, and social/communication skills, leveraging a collaborative, community-based approach.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate engaging sessions within community hubs, on school sites.

Collaborate with the Positive Behaviour System Lead and Positive Behaviour Support Workers to plan and deliver sessions addressing the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of children and youth.

Build skills to support students’ transition back to school.

Participate in professional development as recommended by the Positive Behaviour System Lead.

Coordinate with agency professionals, Knowledge Keepers, and Elders to organize culturally responsive presentations and materials.

Develop culturally relevant promotional materials for community outreach.

Plan and implement student-led, play-based, and inquiry-driven activities focused on key skill development while highlighting individual strengths.

Design and lead recreational activities targeting individual social and communication learning goals.

Establish stable relationships with children, youth, and their families while maintaining confidentiality.

Ensure the health and safety of children, addressing any issues promptly and appropriately, including first aid procedures.

Liaise sensitively with families/caregivers regarding student progress.

Participate in training and planning sessions as required by the Program Committee

Key Qualifications

Post‑secondary graduate in a child/youth‑related field such as Early Childhood Education, Educational Support, Child and Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, Autism and Behavioural Science, or equivalent.

Knowledge and experience working with neurodiverse children and youth are assets.

Training and experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) are considered assets.

Certification in Behaviour Management Systems (BMST) is an asset.

Experience in program planning and facilitation is an asset.

Physical ability to meet the demands of the position, including frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Current Vulnerable Sector Screening (criminal background check).
