The Impact You'll Make
As a
Systems Engineering Intern , you will contribute to the development of robust processes for identifying and qualifying system requirements, ensuring that designs are properly integrated and executed. Your work will focus on addressing all product interfaces and interactions among systems, subsystems, the external environment, and the customer.
This role spans the full product lifecycle—from technology development for new platforms, to the introduction of new products expanding the portfolio, to sustaining activities through end-of-life. The portfolio includes, but is not limited to:
Dynamic turbo machinery
Magnetic bearings
Permanent magnet motors
Integrated power electronics
This is a year-round internship, onsite with our facility in Tallahassee, Florida.
What You’ll Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
Architecture mapping and logic diagram creation
System FMEA evaluations
Mechatronic system design
Manage product and system requirements, specifications, and flow-down processes
Drive validation and verification activities for overall product/system performance, including system-level testing
Lead risk analysis within cross-functional teams
Provide support in specialized technical fields as needed
Build strong relationships and serve as an interface between product design engineering disciplines (Software, Electronics, Mechatronic, Aero/Thermal)
What We're Looking For
Required:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Engineering (Science)
Detail-oriented and self-motivated
Preferred:
Experience using System FMEA to drive risk-based design validation and testing
HVAC industry experience
Turbo machinery experience
Job Criteria
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Well-organized with a focus on process development and implementation
