Lead Facility Maintenance Technician

The Lead Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safe, reliable operation of facility buildings and grounds through preventative maintenance and repair activities. This role provides technical leadership by training and mentoring maintenance staff, coordinating work activities, supporting planning and inventory needs, overseeing contractors, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance work orders.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership by training and mentoring other facility maintenance technicians.
Assist Facility Manager in job planning, materials order, and tool/equipment inventory control.
Oversee outside facility maintenance contractors while on‑site for support, as required.
Repair and maintain floors, stairways, drywall, painting, doors, windows, and furniture.
Minor troubleshooting of faulty electrical systems/circuits for office lighting and receptacles.
Minor plumbing repairs to toilets, sinks, electric water heaters, and leaking plumbing piping.
Replace air filters on plant HVAC equipment as needed. (No HVAC experience required)
Replace door locks and hardware as required.
Operate motorized equipment for miscellaneous tasks such as lawn mowing, snow removal, salting, etc.
Maintain and troubleshoot/repair small‑engine equipment including golf‑carts, forklifts, etc.
Pest control and small animal removal throughout the plant, as required.
Utilize CMMS work order system.
Support other crafts as assigned by the Facility Manager or Maintenance Manager.
Some weekend, holiday, and on‑call work will be required.
Basic Minimum Qualifications
GED or High School Diploma.
5+ years of general maintenance craft experience.
1+ year(s) of experience in leading, mentoring, and training team members.
Basic computer knowledge, familiarity with CMMS software a plus.
Must have the ability to complete required safety classes.
Ability to pass drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
OH Backflow Preventer Certification is a plus but not required.
OSHA‑10/30 Certification is a plus but not required.
EPA 608 (Type 1, 2, 3, or Universal) is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to climb ladders and operate hand and power tools safely.
