Senior Cost Accountant
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Developing and implementing cost standards for materials and labor.

Designing and implementing cost accounting systems.

Analyzing production costs and recommending changes.

Overseeing annual physical inventory.

Evaluating operational costs and conducting comparative analyses.

Reviewing rates of depreciation, labor and overhead and suggesting policy changes to improve numbers.

Establishing inventory standard costing and managing cycle count reporting.

Working closely with the production team to understand and manage raw material and labor costs.

Conducting ongoing process constraint analyses.

Reporting on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances.

Analyzing capital budgeting requests.

Preparing detailed reports, both periodically and as needed.

Conducting audits on financial statements and reports to ensure all calculations and data entries are correct.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field. A Master's degree or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation would be advantageous.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a cost accounting role within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in variance analysis, inventory standard costing, and cycle count reporting.

Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.

In‑depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Excellent problem‑solving skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.

Ability to execute and follow‑through to completion and documentation.

Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.

Strong work ethic and proactive nature.
