2nd Shift; 1300‑2330 (10 hr, Mon‑Thurs)

Responsibilities
Perform complex laboratory analysis of plasma and plasma products in a GMP laboratory.
Accession, prepare, and test samples; calculate results; perform quality control of assays and equipment.
Support assay validation, method transfer, reagent and control qualification, and laboratory maintenance activities.
Work with infectious material, operate a biological safety cabinet, and use a microscope for extended periods.
Utilize micropipettes and serological pipettes to perform dilutions and serial dilutions.
Follow SOPs and oral instructions; maintain precise, legible, and organized documentation.
Perform bioburden and endotoxin testing of in-process product samples and raw materials to support plasma production processes.
Assist with environmental monitoring of production and testing areas.
Perform cleaning duties and housekeeping as required.
Qualifications
Assistant Level:
Associate Degree in life science, medical technology, or related field, or a BS/BA degree in the same area, with a minimum of six months of applicable laboratory experience. Preference for background in medical technology/clinical laboratory science and experience in a GLP/GMP laboratory.
Associate Level:
Equivalent to a minimum of two years of college-level biology coursework (one year of general biology with lab and one year of microbiology with lab). Preference for background in medical technology/clinical laboratory science and experience in a GLP/GMP laboratory.
Ability to work with infectious material on a daily basis and to operate a biological safety cabinet and microscope.
Proficiency with micropipettes and serological pipettes for dilutions and serial dilutions.
Strong documentation skills and the ability to follow SOPs and oral instructions.
Physical Requirements
Exposure to biological fluids with potential infectious organisms.
Exposure to occasional extreme cold below 32°C in production areas.
Use of personal protective equipment such as protective eyewear, garments, and gloves.
Work involves sitting or standing for 2–4 hours per day, frequent hand and foot movements, and light to moderate lifting up to 35 lbs.
Requires accurate hand movements, steady finger coordination, and near vision correctable to 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other.
Must have ability to communicate complex information and ideas clearly and to listen to and understand information presented orally and in writing.
