
Level 2 Cable Assembler

As a Cable Harness/Electro-Mechanical Assembler, Level II, your job responsibilities include assembling Cable/Wire Harnesses or Electro-Mechanical devices to customer specifications. This position requires the ability to read and interpret work instructions, wiring diagrams, and specifications, while following assembly processes and procedures. You will use your hands or machines to do the job with greater precision, and must have good technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Assemble cables per requirements (Customer Bill of Materials, Drawings, and Specifications)
Cut, strip, crimp, and tin wires (Automated as well as manual)
Inserting contacts into connectors
Experience with tie wraps, flat ribbon cable assembly, shrink tubing, and soldering
Installing Back shells and applying labels on wires/cables
Electro/Mechanical
Build Harness Boards
Perform inspection, testing, and pull test on cable wires & devices
Familiarity with the production environment and quality requirements.
When required, participate in regular preventive maintenance of equipment used.
Work safely and observe all safety procedures.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Job Requirements
Must assume responsibility and accountability, have excellent verbal communication skills, be able to work well and efficiently on a team or individually, have a positive, helpful attitude, and be able to meet or exceed expectations daily
Must have basic computer skills
Understanding of Cable Harness & Electro-Mechanical Assembly processes
Must be able to read and understand assembly instructions, production orders, and all other documentation used to control processes
Must have 3-5 years of experience in cable harness, electrical and mechanical assembly
Ability to independently maintain a clean and organized work area
Knowledge of basic safety procedures
Ability to follow and retain directions as well as manage multiple tasks
Proficiency in the use of hand tools used in this kind of work
Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, including accuracy and thoroughness
High school or college diploma preferred
