
Junior Project Cost Estimator

Key Responsibilities
Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with the designer or contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.
Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish negotiating position.
Provide support in price negotiations.
Prepare claim analysis and estimates.
Prepare detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications, and sketches.
Assist in reviewing contractors’ claims and proposals for merit and accountability.
Conduct research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services.
Assist with storage organization and general office upkeep.
Assist with internal events and office needs as requested.
Support hand deliveries to local agencies when needed.
Put away deliveries and maintain organization of incoming supplies.
Qualifications
Two (2) years full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or School Construction.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, engineering, or construction management.
Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs.
Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders.
Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with the contractor proposal to identify differences.
Ability to develop the scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimate the detailed costs of those scopes of work, independent of the contractor proposal.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Fact‑finding and in‑depth skills.
Compensation
$114,000.00 - $135,000.00 (Annual)
