Seeking Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner For Medical Dermatology Practice. Training provided.
Primary location is Bakersfield.
Job Description
This is a medical provider position. The provider must either a Physician Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner. The provider will receive an average of two medical assistants for clinical support.
Training can be provided if the provider does not have direct dermatology experience. We are looking for experienced medical providers though. Candidates need to have a strong background in specialties that encountered some level of dermatology care. Examples include ENT, Urgent Care, and Family Medicine.
Our goal is to find a long-term provider. We want our providers to enjoy working with us. Many of our providers have been with us for over 5 years. Several have been with our practice for over 10 years.

Primarily Bakersfield. Also Palmdale and Valencia

Pay:
$80.00-$110.00 per hour depending on experience and capabilities
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, and some Saturdays
Experience:
Providers have have a minimum of 1 year experience as an active medical provider.
6 months of dermatology experience is preferred but not required. We can provide training if needed.
Training Provided:
Most of our providers go through 6-8 weeks of training. Providers with prior dermatology experience may need less. Providers that are newer to dermatology typically feel adequately trained after the standard 6-8 weeks. Providers will also have ongoing support from our more experienced providers and will have regular check in calls with our supervising MD.
License/Certification:
PA License or NP License (required).
Active DEA License is required.
Job Duties
General dermatology, biopsies, excisions. The candidate will perform, under the responsibility and in collaboration with the in-person supervising physician, diagnostic, therapeutic and procedural tasks in an advanced practice role. Provides direct care including assessing, diagnosing, planning and prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment of skin conditions, health promotion, education and preventive care within the scope of Dermatology practice. Provides comprehensive clinical coordination of care. Reports directly to Medical Director

Yes. Our providers usually have 2 medical assistants trained to support them.

Yes. We use Mod Med.
Is this position only for Bakersfield or will the provider be required to travel?
This position will primarily be for our Bakersfield location. There will likely be some travel to our Valencia location for training.
How many patients does a provider typically see per day at our practice?
We see both PPO and HMO patients. A provider will see 30-40 PPO patients in a day. We treat HMOs as a 2:1 ratio to PPOs. If the provider had a full HMO day then they might see 60-70 patients a day.
What level of clinical support will the provider receive?
Our providers receive 1-2 medical assistants for clinical support.
