Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in delivering comprehensive Psych care to patients, working closely with an interdisciplinary team in both long-term care and acute settings.

Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric consults for residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities

Conduct mental health assessments for conditions including depression, anxiety, dementia-related behaviors, schizophrenia, and mood disorders

Evaluate cognitive status and behavioral symptoms

Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects

Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, social workers, and nursing teams

Develop behavioral management plans to improve quality of life and reduce hospitalizations

Provide counseling and education to patients, families, and caregivers

Qualifications

Minimum of 6 months of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility (Hospital/outpatient office experience will also be considered)

Active and unrestricted NP license

DEA license required

CPR certification (BCLS/BLS)

Master’s degree in Nursing (NP applicants) or Graduation from an accredited NP program

Preferred: Experience in Psych (training available if not)

Preferred: Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Sigma, Visual, PCC – training provided)

Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
