Registered Nurse (RN) Antepartum
Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75093

Work hours: PRN, 7:00pm - 7:00am, Minimum of 3 shifts per 6 week schedule required

Antepartum Department highlights

20 bed High-Risk OB unit

Provide care for and monitoring of patients in Antepartum, High-Risk OB, GYN surgery, all female surgeries and Postpartum moms who have babies in the Level IV NICU

Responsible for 24-hour care of non-laboring Antepartum and GYN patients

What You Need

Diploma in Nursing or

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required

BSN preferred

Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required

One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.

One year of Antepartum experience strongly preferred

One year of Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred

RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required and

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly and

NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required and

ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required and

IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring upon hire preferred and

CPI - Crises Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days required

What You Will Do

Assesses the patient

Plans the care of the patient

Intervenes as appropriate

Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
