Position: Community Mental Wellness Consultant
Overview
Now more than ever, mental and behavioral health care for kids is needed in our community. Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health is looking to meet the growing demands by hiring a full-time Community Mental Wellness Consultant.

As a member of our team, you will help children, youth and families successfully meet life's challenges by offering the emotional and behavioral health support they need. We are a collaborative network of child therapists, psychiatrists, PMHNPs, case managers, school staff, community partners and other mental health professionals working toward a common goal. Together, we provide a positive environment for kids and their families to find health, hope, and happiness.

Job Descriptions/Duties

Provide supportive interventions with families, children, and the community.

Implement strength-based resiliency and skill-building curriculum for indicated and/or selected populations in early childhood programs, schools, and/or caregivers. This includes the use of puppets.

Provide consultation regarding mental wellness and behavior intervention services.

Develop and run parent-child events to support social/emotional development and parent education around behavior management, resiliency and AoD prevention.

Provide parent consultations and strengthen parent involvement.

Coach parents/caregivers to address specific needs of the child using evidence-based parenting models, including but not limited to Triple P: Positive Parenting Program.

Promote a climate that fosters resiliency and positive social, emotional, and behavioral development.

Attend collaborative team meetings to create positive change within the community.

Maintain accurate records of service delivery and ensure timely completion of paperwork.

Document services consistent with program requirements and submit regular programmatic and other reports as requested.

Develop rapport with local social service partners and community resources.

Actively engage with family and child-serving systems, including attending community meetings.

Provide coordination and referral to community services, as needed.

Acts as an advocate for children, their families, and the mental wellness of the community.

Attend the required train-the-trainer sessions and trainings within the first two offerings. Trainings include but may involve Triple P, Transition to Independence Process Model, Motivational Interviewing, Strengthening Families Framework, LifeSkills, CAST, Too Good, Incredible Years, Ohio Consultation Model, Devereux assessments, and others as instructed by the Prevention Program Manager.

Provide Groups related to the curriculums listed above.

Attend continuing education opportunities to obtain and/or maintain professional credentials, licenses, and certifications as directed.

Participate in professional supervision and training activities.

Perform other duties as required.

Serve as the point of contact for assigned community-serving agencies.

Represent the program at national and local trainings and meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum of two years of college in Child Development or Psychology; bachelor's degree with licensure preferred (RA, OCPSA, OCPS-I, OCPS-II, LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, MFT, Nursing, Ohio issued teaching license)

Minimum of two years of experience working with families, children, adolescents and/or community serving agencies.

Strong communication skills with both children and adults.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Culturally competent and willing to work with diverse populations.

Pursue prevention credentials and ECMHC as requested by Prevention Program Manager.

Location : Plain Township office, Stark County (four locations in Stark County include downtown Canton, Belden Village, Alliance and Plain Township). This role is located in our Plain Township office.

Salary Range/Compensation : $17.50/ hr.

Hours : Full-time, some evenings and weekends
