Position Description
The Supervisor of Behavioral Health & Mental Wellness provides leadership and oversight for field-based staff delivering behavioral health, mental wellness, and whole-child support services to partner districts. This role is responsible for supervising and coaching staff, managing performance and documentation processes, and ensuring high-quality service delivery aligned with the center's integrated service model. The Supervisor works closely with Coordinators to ensure staff performance aligns with program implementation, service expectations, and organizational priorities. The role focuses primarily on people leadership, staff development, and maintaining consistent service quality across assigned teams.
Qualifications
Required
Education: Master's degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university
Previous Work-Related Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working with students with behavioral or mental health needs
Previous Supervisory Experience: None
Preferred
Five or more years experience in the field of special education, related services or mental health
A valid Ohio Department of Education Administrative Licensure
Experience working across multiple service settings
Experience in supervision of staff
Essential Job Functions
Supervision & Coaching
Provide direct supervision to field-based behavioral health and mental wellness staff delivering services across partner districts.
Conduct regular supervision meetings to support staff performance, problem-solving, and professional growth.
Provide job-embedded coaching and feedback to support high-quality service delivery.
Support staff in navigating complex student, classroom, and district situations.
Monitor staff workload and service implementation to ensure equitable and sustainable assignments.
Coordinate with Coordinators to ensure staff practices align with program expectations and service models.
Support implementation of center initiatives, systems, and service expectations across staff teams.
Facilitate team meetings and communication structures that support collaboration and alignment.
Promote a culture of professional accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Performance Management and Documentation
Conduct formal staff evaluations in accordance with organizational policies and timelines.
Maintain documentation related to supervision, evaluations, and staff performance.
Address performance concerns through coaching, corrective action, and performance improvement planning when needed.
Ensure staff maintain required documentation, service logs, and compliance requirements.
Monitor staff adherence to professional standards, service expectations, and organizational policies.
Collaborate with the Director and Coordinators when addressing complex personnel situations.
Maintain accurate supervision records and required personnel documentation.
Staff Growth Planning
Support development of individualized professional growth goals for staff.
Identify staff strengths and areas for development to guide coaching and training priorities.
Recommend and facilitate professional learning opportunities aligned with staff needs and service priorities.
Support onboarding and mentoring of new staff.
Collaborate with Coordinators to align staff development with program implementation needs.
Encourage reflective practice and ongoing skill development among staff.
Consultation
Provide consultation to staff related to behavioral, social-emotional, and student support needs.
Support staff in developing strategies for addressing complex student or system challenges.
Collaborate with Coordinators and leadership to problem-solve service delivery issues.
Participate in district meetings or service discussions when staff need supervisory support.
Serve as a resource for staff navigating the implementation of evidence-based practices.
Financial & Asset Management
Monitors staff workload and service assignments to ensure efficient use of personnel resources.
Supports coordinators in aligning staffing assignments with district service agreements.
Maintains oversight of staff attendance reporting and service documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational expectations.
Identifies staffing or resource needs that may impact service delivery and communicates them to leadership.
Supports responsible use of program resources and materials.
