Job Description
Primary Purpose
Collaborate with the Director of Counseling and Student Services to coordinate and manage the district health services program by promoting, improving and maintaining student and staff health. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university; CPR/AED certification

Texas certification for Vision and Hearing; instructor preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills

Ability to implement district policies and procedures

Ability to manage personnel and budgets

Ability to identify emerging issues involving school health

Ability to promote wellness through district health services program

Strong organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skills

Experience

Experience equivalent to five years in nursing/health administration related work

Experience as a CCISD nurse for 5+ years.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Participate in planning, implementing and evaluating the health services program at district and campus levels, in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Health Services.

Work to create and leverage partnerships with local physicians to provide standing orders and professional learning opportunities for nursing staff.

Participate in developing and implementing district wellness policies in collaboration with Director of Counseling and Student Services.

Participate in the review and planning of implementation of health‑related policies and procedures in compliance with state mandates and current health.

Monitor and interpret Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS), TEA regulations, and Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (BON) related to nursing practice, health and student.

Collaborate with the Director of Counseling and Student Services to plan and coordinate nursing staff development and in‑service training, including orientation of new nurses and clinic aides.

Establish and implement procedures to ensure compliance with TACs, state immunization laws, and health screening requirements as directed by the Director of Counseling and Student Services.

Provide supervision, leadership and problem solving for the delivery of nursing care to campus nurses.

Assist with the selection and purchase of supplemental equipment and supplies in collaboration with the Director of Counseling and Student Services.

Work collaboratively with the district Coordinator of Health/PE and Director of Student Personnel Services to coordinate the district school health advisory committee (SHAC).

Serve on district counseling response team.

Serve as a resource to campus principals and administration in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting school nurses in the absence of the Director of Counseling and Student Services.

Serve as a resource for modification of school programs to meet the special health needs of students.

Serve as a resource for the development of individualized healthcare plans and emergency care plans for students with special health needs.

Serve as a resource for promoting wellness, safety and disease prevention for district employees.

Coordinate health services activities with other district administrators and departments in collaboration with the Director of Counseling and Student Services.

Assist with planning and implementation of the district employee wellness program.

Collaborate with other departments to develop, implement, review and update health related issues such as bloodborne pathogen plan, disaster and crisis planning (health concerns related to lock down/shelter in place; pandemic diseases, etc), and maintaining district AED inventory, with guidance from the Director of Counseling and Student Services.
