Leave and Accommodations Analyst
4+ month contract

This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our leave of absence and accommodations programs, and in providing exceptional support to employees, managers, cross‑functional partners, and third‑party administrators. The successful candidate will manage leave of absence and accommodation requests in accordance with federal and state guidelines, and leave policies. You will partner with Benefits, Legal, Payroll, local HR teams, and our Third‑Party Administrator to ensure timely resolution of cases.

Responsibilities

Manage and track employee leave and accommodation cases, including FMLA, ADA, CFRA, PDL, Workers' Compensation, Military leaves, and state‑specific leave laws, using HR systems and software.

Administer the leave process from initial notice through return to work, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Communicate with employees, managers, and third‑party administrators regarding leave requests, accommodations, and ADA administration.

Collaborate with HR and management to determine leave eligibility, resolve complex leave‑related issues, and support operational improvements.

Advise on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off and disability benefits.

Facilitate the return‑to‑work process for employees after extended leave.

Maintain compliance with legal requirements, ensuring confidentiality of medical documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on leave policies, procedures, and regulations.

Confer, coordinate, negotiate, and partner with our LOA TPA, HR, Legal, Payroll, managers, Benefits, team members, and other relevant departments/systems.

Partner with Payroll to resolve pay discrepancies or issues related to LOA claims.

Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and recommend process enhancements.

Develop and maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records and reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

5+ years of experience managing leave of absence and accommodations cases in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.

Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and state‑specific SDI and PFL regulations.

Demonstrated proficiency with HRIS platforms and leave management systems; Workday Absence module experience is preferred.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements, identify compliance risks, and implement appropriate solutions.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex policies to employees at all levels.

Proven track record of building collaborative relationships with cross‑functional stakeholders, including HR, Legal, and Payroll teams.

Extensive experience managing the interactive accommodation process, including effectively navigating communications between employees, business stakeholders, legal counsel, and HR while developing creative solutions.

Advanced expertise with Workday Absence module configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.

Project management experience streamlining complex leave processes and coordinating cross‑functional stakeholders to implement system improvements.

Proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, including formulas and reporting functions.

Professional certification in leave management or accommodations, such as CLMS (Certified Leave Management Specialist), SHRM‑CP/SCP, or ADAC (Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator) certification.
