Manufacturing Engineer

Epoch Biodesign, Mission, KS, United States

At Fourier, we’re making on-site hydrogen universally accessible. Our breakthrough architecture enables highly modular and fully automated electrolyzer systems that scale efficiently across a wide range of operating conditions. Backed by leading venture investors, we’re building real hardware to accelerate the transition to a clean energy future.

About the Role
We’re looking for a

Manufacturing Engineer

to help take our electrolyzer systems from prototype to scalable production. This role sits at the intersection of design, supply chain, and the factory floor. You’ll own manufacturing processes end‑to‑end—driving build quality, repeatability, cost reduction, and throughput as we scale. You will have the chance to bring up an electrolyzer system assembly line from scratch and shape how manufacturing at Fourier will transform.

This is a

hands‑on role

working directly with hardware, technicians, and cross‑functional engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes for electro/mechanical/fluidic systems

Own manufacturing process flows, work instructions, tool selection, BOMs, and build documentation

Support prototype builds, pilot production, and transition to low‑ and mid‑volume manufacturing

Identify and resolve manufacturing issues related to yield, quality, cost, and reliability

Collaborate with design engineers to influence DFM/DFA early in the design cycle

Work closely with supply chain and vendors to qualify parts, tools, inventory, and processes

Design or specify fixtures, tooling, and test setups to support production and validation

Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for build or field issues

Help define manufacturing KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or process engineering role

Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, tolerance stack‑ups, and production workflows

Experience supporting hardware builds from prototype through production

Comfortable working hands‑on in a lab or factory environment

Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems at the system and component level

Clear communicator who works well across engineering, operations, and supply chain

Nice to Have

Experience with complex electro‑mechanical or fluid systems

Background in clean tech, energy, aerospace, automotive, or industrial equipment

Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, PFMEA, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies

Experience scaling manufacturing in an early‑stage or fast‑growing company

Why Join Fourier

Mission‑driven clean energy work with real‑world impact

High ownership and visibility — your work directly shapes the product

Opportunity to grow into technical leadership or operations roles

What We Offer

Competitive salary and equity commensurate with experience

Fully paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
