District Support Pharmacist Part Time

Job Purpose and Summary
As a District Support Pharmacist (DSP), you play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy you work in. You will act as a role model, demonstrate genuine care, and set the bar for pharmacy teams while supporting pharmacist scheduling gaps under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager (PM) and Rx District Leader (DL).

DSP Responsibilities

Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.

Travel to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled and act as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.

Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails.

Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when the sole or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.

Promote positive patient experiences through empathy, coaching, and collaborative care.

Provide immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize.

Manage inventory with best practices, especially protecting cold‑chain products.

Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive team dynamic.

Maintain clinical and technical skills, completing required trainings and CMEs.

Deliver pharmacist‑provided clinical care such as testing, prescribing (e.g., COVID/Flu, contraceptives) when permissible.

Comply with federal, state, and company policies regarding controlled substances, record‑keeping, and privacy.

Required Qualifications

Active Pharmacist license in the state of the store.

Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Essential Functions

Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing.

Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.

Complete required training within designated time frames.

Demonstrate attention and focus: ability to concentrate, pivot quickly, and ensure label accuracy.

Show customer service and team orientation: act friendly, notice and respond to patient reactions.

Communicate effectively: use verbal and written skills, active listening, and avoid inappropriate interruptions.

Apply mathematical reasoning for accurate dosing calculations.

Resolve problems: evaluate patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action.

Perform physical tasks such as staying mobile, lifting up to 20 lbs, reaching overhead, using fine motor skills, and maintaining close visual acuity.

Handle additional tasks as directed by supervisors or managers.

Preferred Qualifications

1–2 years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.

Benefits Summary
Anticipated weekly hours: 20
Time type: Part time
Pay range: $60.00 – $76.00 per hour, based on experience, education, geography, and other factors.

This part‑time position is eligible for benefits such as dental, vision, wellness resources, employee discounts, and voluntary programs, contingent on hours worked and eligibility.
