Job Title: Energy Efficiency Engineer (Mid-Level)
Location: Denver, CO
Type: 12 month Contract
Compensation: $40.00
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote
Responsibilities
Perform engineering calculations to estimate energy savings for customer efficiency projects
Review and evaluate customer project submissions for completeness and technical accuracy
Analyze proposed energy efficiency measures against baseline conditions
Support rebate determinations and prepare customer incentive documentation
Develop and maintain calculation tools and spreadsheets for prescriptive rebate programs
Serve as a technical resource for account managers, customers, vendors, and manufacturers
Support targeted end‑use technologies such as HVAC (cooling/heating), refrigeration, and compressed air systems
Review incoming project applications and identify missing technical details
Perform energy savings calculations and document findings
Collaborate with senior engineers for technical review and validation
Respond to technical inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
Contribute to development and refinement of rebate calculators
Partner with product managers aligned to specific technologies
Participate in occasional calls to clarify project scope and operational details
Requirements
Strong engineering and analytical skills
Experience performing energy efficiency or engineering calculations
Proficiency in Excel (advanced); VBA and/or Python preferred
Ability to solve problems with incomplete or ambiguous data
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
2+ years of relevant experience (energy, utility, consulting, or sustainability)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
Experience with energy systems such as HVAC, refrigeration, or compressed air (preferred)
Certifications such as EIT or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) (preferred, not required)
Excellent communication skills and customer‑focused mindset
Ability to collaborate across teams and work independently with accountability
