Peraton is seeking a skilled software tester who will work as part of an Agile development team on the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program, part of the Navy’s Tomahawk Missile program. The development team supports the implementation of new system behavior and defect corrections to existing system behavior.

Peraton develops several TMPC applications, providing support for tactical and training operations. Functions provided by these applications include mission planning; data distribution; strike planning, rehearsal, and coordination; strike execution, monitoring, and control; strike reporting; and communications configuration and data management/delivery.

The primary focus of your test role on the Agile development team is to understand the new system behavior implemented by your team and write/execute manual tests that exercise the new behavior to ensure the implementation meets the requirements and user story acceptance criteria. While manually testing new capabilities is the activity, you may have the opportunity to develop automated tests. This role may have the ability to work in a hybrid capacity, but is primarily on-site in Santa Clara, CA.

While testing is the primary responsibility, you will perform non-test activities, as needed and able, to support the overall focus and commitment of the team.

As part of the team, you will:

Learn the system behavior

Learn the program’s processes and procedures

Develop and execute tests, following team/project conventions

Report test findings and document new errors per team/project conventions

Understand hardware configurations and applications/capabilities for each configuration

Provide or validate estimates for assigned tasks

Contribute to the evolution of the team/project standards and conventions

Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up)

Work in a collaborative team
