About the Role

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) in St. Petersburg, Florida, is recruiting an additional pediatric clinical geneticist. The ideal candidate will have a primary interest in caring for general pediatric genetics patients but be able and willing to provide basic cross coverage for metabolic consults (with backup from the metabolic geneticist). We have a collegial, cohesive clinical genetics team consisting of two pediatric geneticists (one of whom is metabolic), three certified genetic counselors and a registered clinical pediatric dietitian (metabolic). The ability to work collaboratively with the entire multidisciplinary team is essential.
Responsibilities

The Clinical Genetics program provides comprehensive evaluation and medical management to guide the treatment of children with genetic conditions. Clinicians provide genetic counseling, testing, and follow‑up care for patients with a range of genetic and metabolic genetic conditions. The program evaluates children of all ages from newborn to age 21 and assists patients in transitioning to adult care when appropriate. Current clinics include cardiac genetics, neurocutaneous disorders, 22q deletion syndrome, and Turner syndrome. The metabolic genetics program is currently in development. Clinicians may also collaborate with the CAP‑accredited biorepository and in-house biochemical laboratory geneticist.
Qualifications

• Eligible for an academic appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (rank commensurate with experience).
• Primary interest in general pediatric genetics patients.
• Willingness to provide basic cross coverage for metabolic consults.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team.
