Sr. Manager - Order Planning Management

Foot Locker, Inc., New York, NY, United States

Overview
Senior Manager, Order Planning Management (OPM) is a critical supply chain leadership role within Foot Locker's Omnichannel Fulfillment organization. This individual owns the forecasting, planning, and management of receipt flow through Foot Locker's North America distribution center network — ensuring that product moves efficiently from vendor to DC to store and digital channels at the right time and cost. Sitting within the broader Supply Chain organization and reporting to the Senior Director, Vendor Operations and Order Management, the Senior Manager, OPM serves as a key connector between inventory management, merchandising, supply chain operations, and the vendor community. This leader is equally at home in the data as they are in the boardroom — able to synthesize complex receipt flows into clear, prioritized plans, while coaching their team and influencing vendor partners toward the most efficient and cost-effective fulfillment outcomes. Their work directly enables Foot Locker's omnichannel fulfillment strategy by ensuring that inventory is available when and where it is needed — in DCs, in stores, and for digital demand.

Responsibilities
Receipt Planning & Inventory Flow Management

Own the end‑to‑end forecasting and planning of inbound receipts across Foot Locker's North America DC network, ensuring alignment with business budgets, seasonal plans, and omnichannel fulfillment priorities.

Develop and maintain receipt flow plans that optimize DC capacity utilization, labor requirements, and inventory availability for both digital and store channels.

Proactively identify and resolve receipt flow imbalances - including vendor delays, DC bottlenecks, and priority conflicts - with minimal disruption to the business.

Coordinate, communicate, and prioritize purchase orders through North America Distribution Center facilities in partnership with DC operations leadership.

Vendor Engagement & Supply Chain Coordination

Engage vendor partners in the development and utilization of supply documents to locate, plan, and make product available within agreed timelines.

Coordinate with external vendor partners to forecast intake volumes within their fiscal periods, ensuring supply plans align with Foot Locker's receipt expectations.

Track and communicate supply chain status for launches, key product, collections, and marketing initiatives — serving as the primary escalation point for receipt‑related disruptions.

Champion vendor compliance with order planning requirements, collaborating with the Vendor Order Management team on PO accuracy, lead time adherence, and on‑time shipment performance.

Cross‑Functional Partnership

Partner closely with the Senior Director, Vendor Operations and Order Management, the Omni Order Management pod, and the Forecasting & Demand Planning team to align receipt plans with downstream fulfillment execution.

Collaborate with Inventory Management and Merchandising to ensure receipt prioritization reflects open‑to‑buy targets, product importance, and promotional calendars.

Communicate receipt flow plans and status updates clearly across functions and levels — from DC operations teams to senior leadership.

Educate and lead cross‑functional partners in adopting the most efficient and cost‑effective product movement methods for receipt, digital availability, and store replenishment.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, coach, and develop a team of order planning managers and analysts, fostering a high‑performance culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and data‑driven decision‑making.

Set clear goals and development plans for direct reports; conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.

Build team capability in supply chain analytics, vendor management, and cross‑functional communication to support succession and organizational growth.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Complete complex analyses and business assignments as directed, delivering clear, executive‑ready outputs on receipt performance, forecast accuracy, and supply chain health.

Identify and implement process improvements that increase forecast accuracy, reduce lead time variability, and optimize DC receipt flow.

Develop and maintain reporting tools that provide visibility into receipt status, PO tracking, and supply chain risk across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or a related field required.

7+ years of experience in order planning, inventory management, supply chain operations, or a related field; retail experience strongly preferred.

4+ years of people management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain high‑performing teams.

Deep expertise in receipt flow management, purchase order planning, and DC operations within a high‑volume retail environment.
