Job Overview
Identify and manage risks to human health, safety, and the environment. Ensure all sites/operations achieve and maintain statutory compliance and a safe workplace. Lead and contribute to sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement of environmental and safety impacts.
Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance and support to sites and stakeholders on Environmental, Health & Safety topics.
Lead or step in on projects, working with stakeholders and vendors to manage to completion, demonstrating flexibility and lasting solutions.
Build relationships with stakeholders to understand business, provide support, communicate, and work together to achieve targets.
Operate independently or within the EHS team, prioritizing action items, seeking efficiencies, contributing to team objectives, and reporting EHS performance to management.
Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of EHS tasks and projects.
Work remotely across a multi-site organization with varied operations; travel within North America may be required.
Utilize and maintain an EHS framework for the business.
Maintain knowledge of all applicable Environmental, Health & Safety laws and regulations; participate in industry groups and stay current with standards and best practices.
Conduct EH&S site visits, audits, and inspections to verify regulatory compliance; support vendors/consultants as needed, carry out risk assessments, identifying hazards, impacts, and risk control strategies.
Monitor EH&S performance and recommend improvement actions to onsite management; support implementation of action plans.
Participate in development and management of procedures, policies, and working practices to meet objectives, comply with EHS obligations, and address needs.
Determine training needs, develop materials, and conduct trainings to ensure facility compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
Facilitate safety and environmental management systems for continuous improvement; utilize EHS software to identify and track actions.
Conduct and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and incident resolution to minimize repeat occurrences; keep management informed of significant incidents.
Support other parts of the business, including chemical parts compliance, dangerous goods transportation, extended producer responsibility requirements, and sustainability initiatives.
No full-time or part-time employee supervision; responsible for supervising external vendors and agencies.

Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. at time of application; relocation assistance not provided.
Bachelor’s Degree; Environmental, Health & Safety preferred.
5+ years EHS experience.
OSHA & EPA regulatory knowledge required.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and/or Safety Management Specialist (SMS) preferred.
Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., 14001, 45001, 50001).
Experience with chemical compliance/dangerous goods transportation preferred.
Experience with state-specific requirements (e.g., Prop 65, SB 258, Cal OSHA).
Experience with sustainability/CO2 initiatives preferred.
Experience working remotely, supporting a multi-site organization with varied operations preferred.
