Maintenance Technician
Role Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and reliability of production equipment, building systems, and site utilities. This role ensures that mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems operate safely and efficiently to support uninterrupted production.
The technician will perform preventive maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, support improvement projects, and assist with contractor coordination and general facilities management.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repairs
Perform planned preventive maintenance (PM) and autonomous maintenance (AM) on production equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and basic control system issues
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation
Facilities & Building Maintenance
Support maintenance of buildings, utilities, and site infrastructure
Ensure proper operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire, and security systems
Conduct routine inspections and report issues promptly
Assist with general site maintenance and repairs
Preventive Maintenance & Planning
Execute scheduled maintenance tasks on time and in full
Assist in developing and improving preventive maintenance programs
Maintain up-to-date maintenance documentation and checklists
Monitor equipment condition and report risks or deterioration
Inventory & Spare Parts
Monitor and manage maintenance consumables and spare parts inventory
Communicate material needs to purchasing in a timely manner
Ensure availability of critical spare parts to reduce downtime risk
Contractor Support & Site Work
Support and oversee external contractors as needed
Ensure compliance with site safety policies and standards
Assist in coordinating outsourced maintenance and installation work
Continuous Improvement & Operational Support
Support small projects to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, waste, and maintenance costs
Assist in tracking cycle times and operational performance data
Provide troubleshooting support to engineering and production teams
IT & Cross-Functional Support
Provide basic technical support for IT or production systems when required
Collaborate with production, engineering, and operations teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC systems
Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic diagnostics
Understanding of preventive maintenance systems (PM/AM)
Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and work orders
Basic PLC knowledge (preferred)
Strong problem-solving and hands-on mechanical skills
Good organizational and time management abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
