Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with Electrical Experience
Maintains production and quality by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery and mechanical support equipment. This full‑time direct hire position includes 1st shift availability.

Responsibilities

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production equipment—pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical—per manufacturer’s specifications.

Locates sources of problems by listening to operators, observing equipment operation, and using a step‑by‑step problem‑solving approach.

Performs general electrical maintenance, including inspection of circuit breakers and other electrical components.

Troubleshoots electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.

Repairs and replaces equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.

Follows electrical code, state and local building regulations.

Conducts circuit breaker corrective maintenance.

Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools.

Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts with tape measures, rulers, calipers, micrometers and other basic measuring tools.

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.

Maintains equipment parts, supplies and inventory by communicating actual levels to the Plant Superintendent.

Works on multiple pieces of equipment in order of priority given by the Plant Superintendent.

Maintains continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and needs of equipment or operating personnel.

Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Uses recommended personal protective equipment (PPE) and effectively operates lock‑out tag‑out procedures when working on equipment.

Other Duties

Works and drives towards a team environment.

Has ability to cut, torch, weld and/or fabricate with steel when needed.

Willing to work extended hours to meet production demands.

Plans work in an effective manner and keeps accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Accepts other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job that may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

Skills

Familiar with automation equipment: pneumatics, cylinders, sensors, relays and computers.

Observes moving equipment, gauges, dials or other indicators to assess performance (Operation Monitoring).

Troubleshoots to determine causes of machine downtime, poor quality or performance and decides on the best course of action to temporarily correct issues with a permanent plan.

Installs support equipment, machines, hoses, basic wiring and lubrication fluids using industry best practices.

Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Required Experience

5 years of job experience.

3‑5 years of electrician experience.

Education

High school diploma, GED or trade school training.

Physical Requirements

Continuous full‑body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing and lifting.

Carrying, gripping, and handling objects under 20 lbs.

Bending, reaching, sitting, lifting objects under 20 lbs.

Occasional tasks involving feeling, climbing, balancing, hearing, stooping, standing, walking, driving, twisting, and using hand tools.

Pushing and pulling objects under 20 lbs; carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling items from 20 lbs up to 100 lbs.
