Schedule: Full-time 4‑day/10‑hour shifts with rotating Saturdays
Role snapshot: Hands‑on support in a busy small‑animal hospital – patient handling, lab support, surgery recovery monitoring, and keeping the clinic running smoothly.
About You
You’re a compassionate, detail‑oriented Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and takes pride in excellent patient care. In this role, you’ll support DVMs and Techs with treatments, assist with basic laboratory tasks, and help with patient intake and check‑out – making every visit smoother for pets and the people who love them.
Your Experience & Skills
1‑2 years of veterinary clinical experience (Veterinary Assistant or Kennel Technician)
Veterinary Assistant certification preferred (not required)
Reliable team player who can prioritize and stay calm in a busy clinic
Strong communication and customer service skills with pet parents and teammates
Key Responsibilities
Support veterinarians and technicians to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care and a great client experience
Assist with patient flow: rooming, treatments, and discharge support to keep the day running smoothly
Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked clinic and kennel area
Safely restrain dogs and cats using low‑stress handling techniques
Perform basic services as trained (e.g., nail trims, anal gland expressions)
Monitor post‑op and recovering patients and promptly elevate concerns to the technician or veterinarian
Clean, pack, and sterilize instruments and surgery supplies
Remove IV catheters from surgery patients (as trained and per hospital protocols)
Walk dogs and support kennel care as needed
Support the check‑out process (client education, next steps, and a smooth handoff)
Complete other duties as assigned to support hospital operations
