Job Description
TITLE:
Equipment Mechanic A
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment. This includes performing routine maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, and making necessary repairs to ensure the equipment operates efficiently and safely. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and ability to work with a variety of tools and machinery. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical repair preferred
Willing to work a 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts with planned day
ight rotation
Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair
Skill in use of tools and in the assembly, operation, and repair of various machines and systems
Must have basic tools (Allen wrench, wrench, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Excellent problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
On-call availability to maintain equipment as needed
Follow supervisory instructions and perform other tasks as required; this job description is not all-inclusive, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspection and Diagnosis
Inspect machinery and mechanical equipment to identify and diagnose issues.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint mechanical problems.
Record and report findings and recommendations.
Maintenance and Repair
Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) and maintain maintenance scheduling of equipment
Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems.
Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
Test equipment to ensure repairs are successful and equipment operates properly.
Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot mechanical problems and provide efficient solutions.
Work with manufacturers’ manuals and schematics to understand equipment operations and repair procedures.
Safety and Compliance
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant industry standards.
Documentation
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
Document all inspections, services, and repairs performed on equipment.
Provide detailed reports to supervisors and management.
Tools and Equipment Management
Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles along with housekeeping compliance keep a clean work area
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION

Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
Subject to noise
VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Must be able to perform visual inspections involving small defects.
Must be able to read measurement devices such as tape measurements, pendulum scale, digital displays, etc.
