Requirements:

Maintain a smoke-free environment

Must have reliable transportation

CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Must be able to swim (for pool safety)

Major vaccinations required

Family Overview:
We’re a lively and loving family of four, living in the heart of Walnut Creek, CA. Our two kids, a spirited 4-year-old daughter in TK and our adventurous 2-year-old son in preschool, bring endless joy and energy to our home. Both of us work in finance, balancing our time between our home office and regional offices, with a mix of travel and occasional work events. Though weekends are filled with fun family activities, we often find ourselves juggling all the moving pieces! We also share our home with two affectionate cats who are truly part of the family.

We’re on the lookout for a kind, energetic, and self-sufficient House Manager & Family Assistant to help us keep the home running smoothly, so we can focus on what matters most—our work and time with our kids. We need someone who’s proactive, highly organized, and ready to pitch in, whether it’s tackling household tasks or stepping in to assist with the kids when needed.

Our ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in creating order and organization and can manage everything from errands to meal prep to childcare when needed. You’ll be the kind of person who thrives in a dynamic environment and knows how to keep everything on track—even when things get busy.

This role is all about being proactive and able to jump in without needing constant direction. We’re looking for someone who’s flexible, calm under pressure, and who can easily adapt to the ebb and flow of our family’s needs. If you’re the type of person who loves keeping things running smoothly, has a positive attitude, and is excited about helping out with both household and childcare needs, we think you’ll be a great fit! A love for engaging with our kids is a must, and experience with household management and meal prep is key to succeeding in this role.

Core Responsibilities:
Household Management & Organization:

Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)

Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure hope is prepped for cleaning services

Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding, etc.)

Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays

Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups

Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions

Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas

Maintain indoor plants

Inventory Management & Errands

Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies

Create and manage running household supply lists

Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)

Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping

Meal Planning & Preparation

Plan and prep healthy meals/snacks for adults and/or kids (2x week)

Batch cook easy freezer meals or snacks, easy grab and go for lunch

Shop for groceries and meal-related items

Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Laundry & Linen Care

Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)

Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials

Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies

Pet Care

Keep cat food area tidy

Keep pet supplies stocked and organized

Vendor & Property Oversight

Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes

Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs

Family Support & Child Assistance

Back-up assistance with school/activity pick-ups or drop-offs

Back-up childcare

Prep backpacks, clothing, or snacks for school

Help with child-related laundry or errands

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

Tackle occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards, etc.)

Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom)

Clean humidifiers, washing machines, and air purifiers monthly

Organize special projects: toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation
