We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to file and manage claims related to accidents and damages involving Amazon’s transportation fleet. This hourly position is located in Nashville, TN.

Key responsibilities include reviewing claims, contacting the insured and affected parties, initiating documentation in the claims system, and resolving claims. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and independent decision‑making skills, as well as experience with fleet maintenance and automotive claims handling.

Key Responsibilities

Interact with carriers and customers to obtain facts, explain claims processes, and provide high‑quality service.

Plan and conduct investigations to determine liability, bodily injury, and damages.

Assess actual damages, conduct negotiations, and settle claims within assigned authority.

Document claims thoroughly in the claims management system, ensuring resolution strategy and supporting evidence are captured.

Utilize internal and external websites and tools to file and manage claims.

Collaborate with TOM/TEM/Safety/ROC and other stakeholders to maintain a healthy asset pool.

Identify carrier‑caused accidents that negatively impact asset health and availability.

Review damages to determine applicability of state law and related factors.

Evaluate the financial value of equipment loss.

Schedule and coordinate asset repairs with preferred maintenance vendors.

Refer claims to other company units (Legal, Risk, Compliance, Loss Prevention) as needed.

Day to day, the Fleet Claims Specialist works closely with cross‑functional teams, utilizes data analysis to inform decisions, writes white papers, and refines processes to eliminate inefficiencies.

About the Team
The Middle Mile Property Damage investigators operate with minimal oversight, an international scope, and high expectations. They have the freedom to make on‑the‑ground decisions based on policy, law, and personal discretion.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience in a professional field or military background.

Knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local government contracting laws, rules, and regulations.

At least 1 year of claims experience.

At least 1 year of professional writing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of VBA and Excel macro creation and modification.

3+ years of logistics experience.

Experience in transportation operations and industry knowledge.

Experience using data to drive root‑cause elimination and process improvement.

Demonstrated success working with carriers and/or brokers.

Hourly rate: $21.00 – $31.00 USD.
