Amazon's "Last Mile" Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program delivers packages to households and businesses worldwide. Our finance team supports this rapidly growing business by building a portfolio of delivery stations, vans, and technology to ensure timely deliveries. This role plays a key part in supporting Amazon’s corporate claims for Middle Mile, working closely with stakeholders across Middle Mile operations, Safety, Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Risk.
This position is responsible for month‑end close, weekly forecasting, planning, and reporting for Middle Mile on‑road corporate claims and administrative costs. It partners with the Global Risk team to understand claim development trends, case reserves, and claim closure strategies that impact NA Operations P&L and balance sheet reserves. The analyst also drives process improvement in claims allocation methodology with Middle Mile Finance and leads strategic initiatives, including developing claim analytics to improve forecasting accuracy, contributing to leadership Business Review documents, and focusing on root causes of claims and safety incident reduction.
Key Responsibilities
Identifies basic control risks, evaluates impact, proposes changes, and implements improvements to remediate gaps.
Delivers weekly/monthly financial close using financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets, outputting plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.
Works with a variety of data sources; identifies incomplete or inaccurate data, determines root causes of data issues, escalates discrepancies, and fixes data or partners to deliver solutions.
Communicates data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner, adjusting style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly.
Identifies and implements solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes.
Manages time independently, prioritizes work, resolves issues, meets deadlines, and seeks feedback from manager.
Drives self‑development within the Finance Community by seeking opportunities to expand finance expertise, participating in events, initiatives, and projects, and sharing knowledge.
Creates a positive, collaborative, and effective team environment as an indicator of operational excellence.
About the Team
The Amazon Transportation Claims and Insurance Finance Team manages on‑road claims and insurance costs across Last and Middle Mile operations, while supporting premium pricing decisions and risk‑based value‑added services for Delivery Service Partners (DSP). The team provides financial decision support for premium pricing and risk‑based value‑added services for DSP.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or CPA.
Knowledge of Tableau.
Experience with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).

Base salary range: USA, NY, New York - $73,600.00-$128,800.00 annually; USA, TN, Nashville - $60,200.00-$105,400.00 annually; USA, WA, Bellevue - $82,700.00-$117,100.00 annually.
