
Staff Accountant

Alcott HR is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to‑day accounting operations of the company, including the Accounts Payable function. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries
Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and Balance Sheet/P&L accounts
Assist with external audits and provide required documentation
Review vendor invoices for accuracy and obtain proper levels of approval
Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and process checks runs, ACH and wire payments
Maintain and reconcile the accounts payable ledger
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience (public or private)
Experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, etc)
High attention to detail
Experience in a PEO environment a plus
A proactive, optimistic mindset
Strong communication and customer service skills
Problem solving and follow‑up skills
Compensation
$75,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience
