Position Overview
This faculty position is for a full‑time faculty in Oculofacial Surgery. The appointment rank may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level on the tenure track or clinical track, consistent with clinical experience and research interest. The position entails clinical and surgical activity at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics main campus and Iowa River Landing Ambulatory site.

Education Requirements

Medical doctorate (MD) or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from a fully accredited ophthalmology residency.

Subspecialty training in ASOPRS approved Oculofacial Surgery.

Demonstrated medical and surgical skills in Oculofacial Surgery.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Certifications

Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Iowa.

Must be board certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology within 3 years of hire.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience in clinical or basic science research.

Demonstrated experience with resident and fellow training.

Experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.
