Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School located in Spring Hill, FL is seeking a dedicated full‑time Technical Director who will oversee technical aspects of school productions and events. The role includes teaching full‑time classes in Stage Design, Film Study, Television and Film Production, Technical Theater, and Digital Photography.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with directors, staff, and students to plan and execute technical aspects of productions.
Design and set up lighting plots, sound systems, and special effects for performances.
Supervise and train student crew members in technical operations.
Maintain and update equipment inventory, ensuring all tools are in good working condition.
Troubleshoot technical issues during rehearsals and performances.
Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth and successful productions.
Stay current on industry trends and new technologies to enhance productions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre, Performing Arts, or related field.
Proven experience in technical theatre, with a focus on sound, lighting, and set design.
Strong knowledge of audio and lighting equipment and software.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, creative environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Experience working with high school students is a plus.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during productions.
