Job Summary
Dominion Energy is adding an Energy Market Analyst/Senior Analyst to its Integrated Strategic Planning (ISP) team. The ISP team focuses on energy market research and analysis related to economics, regulations, and policy formulation specific to energy. This position will assist in conducting long-term energy market and economic analyses as part of the Company's Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), Clean Energy Filing, and other regulatory cases. This work is critical to the Company’s long-term planning and strategic decision making.
Responsibilities
Assists in the development and implementation of project timelines for Company Regulatory filings with the VA and NC Utility Commissions.
Assist in the coordination of Discovery and the development of Company testimony for the ISP team. Ensures timely filing of regulatory cases.
Assists in the development and preparation of regulatory filings, associated tariffs, work papers, documentation, analyses, discovery responses, and testimony.
Develops and prepares technical analysis.
Monitors and analyzes regulatory changes.
Provides support to outside consultants, and internal and external counsel.
Supports and defends company positions in formal proceedings, by assisting in the preparation of expert written and oral testimony.
Maintains effective working relationship with commission staff and regulatory stakeholders.
Works as part of a team to effectively communicate expert analysis in regulatory cases.
Energy Market Analyst:
3-5 years analytical and/or related experience.
Senior Energy Market Analyst:
5+ years analytical and/or related experience.
Qualifications
Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
Knowledge of energy markets, financial analysis, utility industry operating terms, generation equipment, environmental regulations, economics, financial statements, utility rates, capacity markets and commodity markets.
Knowledge of business information research, analytical methods, and statistics.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to comprehend and disseminate information to multiple audiences.
Ability to develop effective presentations for a variety of audiences and external groups.
Project Management and/or ability to handle multiple projects and priorities within specified deadlines.
Experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience is desired.
Effective oral communication, written communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial concepts, analytical techniques, and regulatory issues.
Ability to evaluate independently and recommend courses of action in response to inquiries.
Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor. Preferred disciplines: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Science.
Working Conditions
Travel up to 25%.
