
Sterile Processing Technician

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Rochester, MN 55905
Shift Options:
• Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Monday – Friday | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 4x10s or 5x8s | Overtime as needed | No weekends | No call | No holidays
Contract Duration: 16 weeks with a strong possibility of further extension
Pay Rate:
• Travel: $1300 – $1500/week
• Local: $1200 – $1400/week
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
Maintain digital instrument records using the Instrument Tracking System software
Track lost or broken instrumentation and perform weekly audit reports
Ensure all instrument processing activities follow department procedures and compliance standards
Support operating room teams by maintaining the availability of sterile surgical instruments
Assist with delegated sterile processing duties to support surgical patient care
Maintain quality and safety standards throughout the instrument processing cycle
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting
Good computer skills, including knowledge of instrument tracking systems
Required Certifications:
BLS required
CBSPD required
CRCST required
