Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled
Electrical Estimator
to join our team at K&A Engineering in
Bethpage, Long Island . In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. You’ll be part of a dynamic, people-focused team where your expertise, ideas, and contributions will be valued and celebrated.
Cost estimating for the electrical utility industry, including knowledge related to the scope of the specific programs related to generation and transmission
Assist the Business leaders for data necessary to support customer price requests and responses
Determine understanding of risk associated with large capital projects and the application of contingency
Analyze key themes and trends to ensure all factors are properly considered, priced and included in the project estimate
Compare detailed project scopes as constructed versus as budgeted and document variances
Background in competitive solicitations
Document findings and develop improvement plans based on the analysis
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within area of responsibility
What we’re looking for
Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering, Finance or Business Administration, or other related degrees preferred.
5+ years experience as an estimator or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related
Preferred - Utility Project Management, Risk Management and/or Estimating experience
Proficiency with Word, Excel, SAP, and general knowledge of PowerPoint and Microsoft Project or other scheduling software.
Knowledge of the supply chain for the utility industry.
History with constructability reviews and value engineering
Construction Management is a plus
General knowledge of construction market, estimating techniques, engineered drawings, cost control, and scheduling of equipment procurement and construction of projects.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Proven interpersonal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of planning, design, and construction process.
Able to work and interact with various team members during all phases of projects
Able to report to the office- Hybrid Schedule
Pay Range:
$85,000-$110,000/year
