Applicant must be passionate about inpatient care, preferably with inpatient experience.
APP experience is required (highly autonomous position)
Ideal candidate has very strong understanding of blood cancers, through general ONC knowledge.
Very good understanding of cancer treatments, infusion reactions, managing internal medicine co-morbidities of which many oncology patients possess.
Location: 2799 W Grand BLVD P2 Hematology/Oncology Detroit, MI 48202
Shift: 7p-7a with weekend and holiday assignments, 36 hour week with full-time benefits.
The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in nursing. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLAS/PALS provider status as required by department.
