Title: Nurse Extern I – Med Surg (2606000064)

Job Summary
The Nurse Extern I (NE I) is a member of the patient care services team with primary responsibilities for technical, multi‑skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The NE I works under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and NE I skills and abilities. The NE I reports all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse. Students hired as Nurse Extern I typically perform job duties similar to a patient care tech.

Qualifications

Completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course through an accredited school of nursing.

Students must successfully pass all courses to remain in the program.
