Nurse Extern II - Med Surg
Job Summary: The Nurse Extern II (NE II) is a member of the patient care services team whose primary responsibilities include technical, multi‑skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The NE II works under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based on patient needs and the NE II’s skills and abilities. The NE II reports all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse. The NE II assists with providing patient care such as ADLs, vitals, ambulation, and other duties within the scope of a patient care tech or equivalent. Each shift the NE II is assigned to an experienced RN who instructs, mentors, and provides feedback on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications
Applicants can apply up to 6 months before graduation from an accredited school of nursing and must pass all senior courses to remain in the program.
