Senior Site Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager
At Amazon, we prioritize health, safety, and well‑being. The Senior Site WHS Manager will partner with site operations to execute company WHS policies, ensure compliance with local and regional regulations, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditions and ergonomic risks.
Responsibilities
Act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy.
Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon Safety Policies.
Measure site performance against published safety policy requirements; identify plans to address deficiencies.
Ensure safety record keeping and data integrity; provide accurate reporting and metrics to support business safety initiatives.
Deliver on‑time, high‑quality projects to Operations.
Deep‑dive safety metrics; review incident trends to justify resource allocation to high‑risk areas.
Audit record‑keeping practices and Global Safety Database entries for compliance with global standards and local regulations.
Audit workplace organization and associate behaviors; ensure training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
Manage and mentor Safety Managers and Safety Associates on site.
Engage Injury Prevention Specialists and Site Leadership to drive long‑term actions for incident reduction.
Perform targeted Kaizen events in partnership with Operations based on identified risks.
Ensure site leadership and associates are trained on policy responsibilities.
Audit quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required safety training.
Review effectiveness of deployed safety tools; revise to ensure continual improvement.
Partner with corporate and regional field safety personnel to leverage global safety and environmental best practices into NA network standards.
Additional Job Elements
Lift up to 49 pounds; frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
Stand/walk up to 12 hours during shifts.
Work in environments with variable noise levels and temperatures.
Continuously climb and descend stairs (if applicable).
Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response.
Basic Qualifications
CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain within 3 weeks.
Bachelor’s degree.
7+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
7+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management.
Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree (preferred).
Certified Safety Professional (preferred).
Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic organization.
Interest in long‑term career development across multiple business units.
Prior experience in a management development training program.
Track record of effectively managing a safety operation comprising salaried and hourly staff.
Demonstrated experience in developing others into higher levels of responsibility.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Directors and VPs.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Base salary range: $134,700.00 – $182,200.00 USD annually.
