
Content Acquisition Specialist (Publishing Rights)

We are currently partnered with a global audio and entertainment company that is looking for a Content Acquisition Specialist that has experience in Publishing Rights.
This is a 9-month contract position and requires candidates to work fully on-site 5 days per week in their Newark, New Jersey office.
Description
The Content Acquisition Specialist will support the Books Acquisitions and Content Partnerships team. This individual will research and compile contract deal term details, compile and analyze sales data, negotiate renewal licenses, and provide other dealmaking support to the team. They will also work closely with internal teams including deal operations and legal, and collaborate with external partners such as publishers, agents, and authors. They will work within the team on specific workflows, collaborating with others as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
Generate sales and performance reports using various business intelligence systems
Research contract terms by reviewing contracts, amendments, addendums, and the contract database
Work with legal to draft amendments
Provide general operational support to the Books acquisition team
Enter and maintain records in Salesforce and other databases
Process payee changes, content terminations, etc.
Negotiate license renewals
Role Requirements
B.A. or equivalent degree preferred
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Minimum 5 years experience in publishing rights licensing
Fluency in Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, Salesforce, Airtable, and similar tools
Experience working with databases and high volumes of information
Excellent business judgment and exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities in a calm and efficient manner
