As a Case Manager, you’ll be part of a foster parent’s Bethany team, supporting them and the child in their care. You’ll train, equip, and help connect foster parents to community resources to meet the child’s needs.

How Your Role Makes a Difference

Provide case management services to children in foster care

Attend and testify at court hearings, as necessary

Maintain effective communication with attorneys, therapists, CASA workers, and other service providers

Maintain accurate and current client records, case files, notes, and medical documentation

Comply with reporting requirements from the organization, Department of Child Services (DCS), and the court, ensuring timely submission of all reports

Provide services that empower clients while adhering to organizational ethical standards

Coordinate and facilitate treatment plan completion and maintain communication with providers, including attending child and family team meetings

Meet with foster parents at least monthly to ensure appropriate care of foster children

Investigate child abuse and neglect in accordance with program guidelines and expectations

Make recommendations regarding termination of parental rights in a timely manner to ensure child safety

Participate in on-call rotation as needed

Assess safety and appropriateness of placements using child welfare principles and best practices

Attend weekly supervision meetings to review case plans and client progress

Partner with Licensing and Placement Specialists regarding foster parent concerns and complaints

Stay current on community resources and refer foster families for support as needed

Stay current on all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services

Essential job responsibilities may vary based on program or department needs

May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany-sponsored event

Complete other duties as assigned

What Will Make You Successful

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college

At least one (1) year of prior case management experience in child and family services

Hold or be willing to obtain state certifications as required by the program

Broad knowledge of human services principles, concepts, and methodologies at the bachelor’s level

Understanding of the effects of separation, loss, neglect, and physical or sexual abuse on children

Knowledge of state, community, and agency resources

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills

Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of confidentiality

Adheres to all agency and departmental safety procedures, including reporting unsafe practices, equipment, or environments and taking corrective action through proper channels

Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany

Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage

Must pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
