Responsibilities
Prepare and evaluate cubicle qualification samples (Tab samples)
Prepare and evaluate sample parts and customer hardware (Part cut ups) and evaluate physical properties (e.g. Hardness – Micro and Macro)
Perform set‑ups and operate a variety of standard lab equipment, while adhering to prescribed methods of operation
Calibrate and maintain lab equipment
Order all Met Lab supplies including polishing suspensions, grit paper, etc
Perform quality evaluations of standard coatings in a timely manner, identifying problem areas and reporting results to appropriate individuals
Accurate record keeping for all of the above
Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED and five (5) years related experience such as in quality, manufacturing, or similar environment
Ability to complete Linde Metallurgical Technician Training and Metcut Training, and maintain certification(s)
Ability to perform quality evaluations of standard coatings and basic investigations into metallurgical issues at a level typically acquired through lab experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends and holidays as needed
