Position Purpose
The Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for the overall program development of the Cotopaxi Volleyball Program. Promotes an appreciation of physical fitness, positive mindset, teamwork, and sportsmanship in all words, actions and deeds. Provides foundational leadership, supervision, and mentorship expected from our programs. Works collaboratively and effectively with all district and community stakeholders.

Activities Director, administration, and School Board
Essential Job Functions & Qualifications
Organization and supervision of the coaching staff to assure that the program is properly implemented
Coordinates all training activities and ensure high supervision of all student-athletes
Supports the value of education and the philosophy and vision of Cotopaxi Fremont RE-3
Communicates effectively in both written and verbal methods to all stakeholders
Advocates on behalf of all student-athletes, coaches and families
Maintaining strong public relations and promotes Cotopaxi Fremont RE-3 positively
Works effectively with all members of the school district and community
Promotes an appreciation for physical fitness, health habits, teamwork and sportsmanship
Develops team rules, communicating them effectively to players and parents, and equitably enforce them
Ensure that all activities conform to CHSSA guidelines
Attend Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) rules meetings, and adhere to rules and regulations established through the league and District.
Adhere to all district health and safety policies and coaching expectations
React to change productively and acts as a positive change agent
Must have or ability to obtain Coaching authorization
Complete and approval received from an established background check process
Have a valid driver's license, and qualify under the district's insurance carrier when driving school vehicles or personal vehicles connected to job responsibilities.
Meet and maintain all physical and mental requirements of the position including prolonged standing, physical exertion, mentorship to student-athletes, etc.
Must be able to travel associated with the position
Must work within both indoors and outdoors conditions
Other duties as assigned by the AD, principal or administration
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel.
The work requires the use of telephone and using fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards.
The employee is continually hearing and speaking to exchange information.
The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Ability to be on feet up to eight hours every day. The work is mostly walking and standing with periods of sitting.
Typical positions require workers to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs, bend and crouch; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards; and feel the shape, size and temperature of objects.
The work requires the ability to speak normally, to use normal or aided vision and hearing, detect odors, identify colors, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.
Conditions include working inside and outside, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, working closely with others, working alone, and traveling by car, van, bus.
