Hourly Pay rate: $ 20.00 - $ 22.00
Job Purpose:
To maximize guest satisfaction by ensuring neat, clean, and well-maintained guest rooms through effective supervision, direction, and coordination of housekeepers/room cleaners. Delivers warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance that reassures guests they have made the right choice to stay with us.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise room cleaners to ensure prompt and efficient housekeeping of guest rooms
Verify completion of daily room cleaning by reviewing room cleaners’ worksheets and notifying the Front Desk accordingly
Oversee completion of short-notice room change requests
Inspect all checkout and stay-over rooms to ensure compliance with company cleanliness and quality standards
Maintain daily records of room checkouts and stay-overs and submit documentation to the Housekeeping department
Monitor room quality by conducting and documenting inspections of cleaned rooms
Prepare and submit maintenance work orders for repair or replacement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment and follow up to ensure completion
Monitor room status continuously and communicate changes to room cleaners
Inspect VIP rooms and early-morning make-up rooms
Prioritize guestroom cleaning based on operational needs, including VIP rooms, checkout rooms, expected checkouts, and special guest requests
Inspect floor linen closets daily to ensure cleanliness and adequate supply levels
Ensure housekeeping carts are properly stored and vacuum cleaners are emptied at the end of each day
Assist with quarterly linen inventory
Ensure safety compliance by keeping all linen chutes locked at all times
Coordinate housekeeping activities with related departments, including Front Desk, Engineering, Banquet Services, and Room Service
Take every opportunity to exceed guest expectations
Ensure all guests are treated courteously, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards
Assist with training, coaching, and direction of new housekeeping associates
Ensure housekeeping quality standards, policies, and procedures are consistently followed
Coordinate with other hotel departments to promote communication and enhance guest satisfaction
Assist in the daily maintenance of room inventory status to support optimal revenue while maintaining high guest satisfaction
Qualifications and Requirements
High School Diploma, secondary qualification, or equivalent
Prior experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt standards and procedures preferred
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Work is performed primarily indoors in a climate-controlled environment
Walking and standing required for nearly 100% of the workday; duration varies by task
Frequent walking and verbal direction throughout the hotel
Ability to reach other hotel departments quickly and efficiently
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds regularly
Ability to push or pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds on occasion
Ability to work efficiently in confined spaces
Requires bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, and climbing to perform inspections and housekeeping tasks
Requires continuous grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motion, listening, hearing, and visual acuity
Frequent verbal communication with guests, supervisors, and team members
Continuous use of near vision and depth perception
Requires sufficient manual dexterity to operate all necessary housekeeping and inspection equipment
